My mother was bitten by a monkey
30 Answers
On a recent trip to the gambia my 86 year old mother was attacked and mauled by a small squirel typed monkey and was bitten on her ears and her tongue.
She was administered first aid and an ointment applied by our guides who assured us the monkey was not poisonous or didn't harbour any diseases, however 2 months on my mothers tongue has started to randomly swell up and deflate over a 24 hour period, this does not bring any pain but is a little unnerving as she's worried she may have caught something, does anyone have any clues at what's going on or what to do next?
