Should I say something
18 Answers
It was my daughter's birthday party yesterday and the neighbours' twin daughters were invited but didn't show up (thought no more about it - maybe one of the was unwell or something had come up). We've been out all day to day and when we got home there was a present on the windowsill - no names on it and no card. Now I presume it's from the neighbours but what if I thank them tomorrow and it's not from them (which would be weird as I can't think who else it would be from). Any thoughts?

people are not obliged to go to parties, just because they're invited!
there could be all sorts of reasons they didnt go - they dont need to explain or apologise for not going ...and nor are they expected to still give a gift if they dont go!
if i was thanked for a gift i hadnt given i would not feel remotely guilty!
what a very odd attitude you have
