They say to dry and dry them up. But then they crack and bleed. I use vaseline which most people would be shocked at
I did not mean to put the word dry in twice
Zorivax (not sure of spelling?) works well, or apparently dabbing it with cold black coffee works as well.
Zovirax (or equivalent) but you have to use it at the earliest sign of a cold sore.
Zovirax is pretty good, but you have to put it on as soon as you feel the tingling that heralds the sore.
I certainly wouldn't be shocked at vaseline...it's great for anything wrong with your skin.
but it won't cure a viral infection..
If you have any vitamin E capsules break one open and apply the oil to the cold sore. Always worked for me, but you need several applications before it goes completely.
Blisteze, applied at regular intervals.
Vaseline doesn't cure anything, but it makes your skin feel a bit better.
dab pure Tea Tree Oil as soon as it starts to tingle on the lip and keep applying until swelling goes down.
Cymex.
it hurts!..wee bit perfume or aftershave...then vaseline.
gargle with salty water
Hold an ice cube against the cold sore, doesn't instantly get rid of it but it lessens the time it hangs around
ice cube on a blistered one, hot teabag on a new one
I suffer terribly with cold sores. If you don't catch it at the first tingle and plaster zorirax on it, this stuff is the best I've found for getting rid of them as quickly as possible (stings like hell though)
