I heard this morning that my brother had been taken into hospital, then got told that a minor procedure I was booked in for was being rescheduled as the surgeon was going on holiday (this is in the private sector!), feeling a tad cheesed off I was then somewhat short with two colleagues one of whom then went into a major sulk.

Home alone now and feeling fed up, can you brighten my evening????

I would say, Eccles, "Meet you at the Oxenham Arms at South Zeals, a lovely old Inn just off the Moor and once host to the scribbler himself, Mr Dickens, who wrote a large part of "A Tale of" there, when snowed up one winter. Nice place and good food. But its crap down here too!
OOps eccles, I've just had a thought and looked at your profile, so don't try that.

I'm a Maid of Kent and was bought up living within much of Dickens territory. I might just have to google the aforementioned hostelry as I'm free and going to be bored witless this weekend (assuming I don't have to do Aunt duties).

I was wondering Gran.....
my other fav isnt as good as it used to be, the Nobody Inn at Doddiscoombeleigh - used to have the most amazing sausages, a Devo cheese plate to die for and a wonderful wine list. The latter is not as good as it used to be as they changed ownership about 3 years ago.....

I have a feeling that I have also frequented the Nobody Inn but it would have been 20yrs ago. The Oxenham looks a little too fine dining for me this weekend, I fancy a pint and a pastie in front of a fire.....just need to find one.
that is probably more the Nobody........
I love marvals chocolate list. I sit there stuffing giant chocolate buttons (ostensibly bought for the kids) into my mouth as if there was no tomorrow and I don't even feel sad - what's more I don't feel guilty either.
