Dummys and smoking?

Does anyone know of any research into the ratio of smokers who had a dummy stuck in their mouths for long or extended periods of time when they grew to be a toddler and smokers who didn't use a dummy either at all or only very occasionaly?

I don't need to know for any great reason other than curiosity.

I'd be interested to know if there is a connection between the use of a dummy and those people that insist on walking round with a cardboard beaker of coffee they continually sip from, like a fractious toddler.

Neither of my two had a dummy but both sucked their thumb/fingers when little and both smoke like chimneys now. I hate it with a passion!

One of mine had a dummy, other one didn't. Both now smoke tho :(

I never had a dummy or sucked my thumb(Ugh) but smoked 40 a day for 40 years until I gave up 11 years ago.Both my sons had dummies.One is a heavy smoker and the other can't bear or understand anyone wanting to smoke.

I smoked for 31 years until I stopped ten years ago. My mother told me that I'd never had a dummy or anything put in my mouth.

I smoke and never had a dummy. My daughter had a dummy and has never touched a ciggy in her life (now 24)

So no one knows if there has been a stuy them? Although it seems that most people on here think there is no relation to dummys and smoking.
