i am looking in to taking out funeral insurance, what would the average cost of a funeral be .

I don't know but you sound very young to me. I thought this would curry your favour as well saying that.

Well, if you are kind enough to donate your body to science after death then it will only cost you the price of a stamp. I have opted to do this and suggest that you do the same to avoid the cost of a funeral. See link below:

Following on from nungate - I have recently arranged it and AgeUK offer 3 different levels (funeral/funeral + 1 car/funeral + 2 car) starting at about £2000. This is for cremation only. Burial is extra.
You can get these over 1 year, 5 years and I think 10 years too. The last one is about £35 a month.
If you have to use it before the paln is paid then it is still payable from your estate (or by your surviving relatives too!)
