I was just looking at the parrot thread, and thinking how few people have parrots nowadays.

And then I thought ... Quaglino's ashtrays!

Everyone used to have a "Q" ashtray at home (nicked from Quaglino's), but now there's no smoking in restaurants, can you even get one???

When you ate at Quaglino's, you used to put them in your bag. When I got mine, about three of us "bagged" them, and then they appeared on the bottom of the bill. Fairy nuff, I suppose.

Has anyone else got one?

"balance ball toy thing" ?

I can't really picture that.
Ball toy ..
Does it make your eyes water?
have never heard of it either. Always wanted to find a Malibu ashtray, never did.
Balance ball toy thingy.

Imagine if you will a hand held plastic disc approximately 1 inch thick.
Encased in the disc is a piece of cardboard with holes and plastic blocks.
The object of the game is to the enclosed ball bearing from point A to point B avoiding the holes by balancing the disc and tilting it to and fro.

A sort of maze game.

Aaaaaah, yes ... I know exactly what you mean, hc.
You could always just cut a coconut in half 4getmenot. :)
I don't think my mum and dad have ever actually bought an ashtray. Nearly everytime they went out they would come back with one. Even on holidays. They have them from Spain, Portugal, Greece, France, Guernsey..... lol! They just sit in a cupboard somewhere! haha
you'd better get on a Virgin flight quickish and get a cruet set, they're being phased out too

Can´t believe I never stole one of those, as paid the extortionate price for eating there. Once took the ´complimenary´ hangover kit from the Metropole Hotel and found I was charged 33 pounds for a couple of asprin, a condom and a disposable camera!!! Still have it though, is it collectable?

Q-Bee ...

That was an oversight!

But it is nice there, isn't it. The seafood is yummy. And you can get a fab seared fois gras, and a steak tartare.

Also, when we nicked ours, they put them on the bill. They were quite expensive.
Errr no.

Can't imagine many people can afford to eat there Jayne.
you finance it by selling on the stolen property. Is theft looked on so leniently by the Co-op?
oddly 'nuff no jno, but that doesn't stop the scrotes nicking though. We had one "darling" last week emptying entire shelves loads, into his duffle bag, of soap.

jno is right ...

There's no excuse for pinching ash trays.

Apparently they were losing about 1,000 a month!

They were described as "the most stolen item in London" ...
