The fish man over the way just knocked on the door and said he hadn't noticed me go out anywhere today so assumed I didn't have lunch (possibly a bit stalkerish but hey) so he brought me a lovely piece of fresh a smoked salmon to feast on.

It's the most delicious thing I've eaten for about a month and as I've been having a crappy day it's really cheered me up. It is sooooo yummy!

Any random acts of kindness for you recently?

Bleaky, are you serious. I pretty sure it wasn't laced with rohipnol. Just honey I think. I said it was slightly stalkerish that he knew I hadn't left the office today but that's probably because his van nearly blocks mine in normally so when I do leave he's probably peeking out the window to make sure I don't hit it - and he didn't have to do that today.

Anyway, there are two fish men. This one is nice, but I believed about twice my age and married. The other one is an *** of immense proportions.

Oh i get you know. I had a completely different vision in my head when i read your story, too much thriller movies recently i think.
To be fair to Beaky, when I first read this I thought you were at home too... in which case, it would be a bit odd! :D
I try to do nice things if I can... I remeber once I'd bought load of bunches of flowers from a florists 'discounted' area... still perfectly ok just fewer buds.... I was sitting on the bus and noticed an old lady looking at them... I acted on impulse and gave her a bunch she got all teary eyed apparently the last person to give her flowers was her late husband as she had no close family so glad I did it

Sorry no, at work and as it's turned out to be quite a nice day the door is wide open, which is probably quite inviting.

Trigger - the one on his head, possibly yes.
Thank you fliptheswitch, at least someone understands what i meant. I have children and i ould offer the same advice i offered evian baby to my daughters and would not expect to be called a clown for doing so.

Rowan, that's lovely! Bet you made her week.

Sorry, I wasn't ignoring the others, was just a bit distracted by the thought of my salmon being spiked.

Trigger, you're well lucky! I was gona buy that game for my newphews birthday this week but was too tight so he just got a Game voucher for half the amount instead.
I was sat on a wet bench on a dry newspaper and when someone joined me I offered them the newspaper to sit on. Then it transpired she had had cancer 3 times. Just returning from hospital. She said "I Must have a fag". She lit up so I said politely that I couldn't stand the smell and moved away. She was a bit upset with me! I just thought I hope there's enough money in NHS when I get ill (as a non-smoker). Bless her.
I saw quite a few little gestures on Sunday during , strangers handing out sweets, runners helping out each other, I heard of one woman being carried over the line by two fellas and just in general, people standing in the rain to support the runners, not even just support, it was like they really wanted everyone to do well, it really done The Wirral and Liverpool proud!
And that's without mentioning the fantastic sponsors I received from people I speak to often enough but I'd never actually met! The whole thing has left me realising that there are plenty of really good people out there!
Sorry evianbaby i didn't mean to alarm you but i couldn't just sit here and offer my 2 cents worth which may help someone that reads this thread one day.

The feeesh man sounds a bit of a stalker, evianB.......should'nt be too hard to notice him though as he'll be the one smelling of kippers.:0)

My good deed for the week.......I was in an Eastbourne cafe and a little sweet old lady, who had been shopping, started chatting to me in the queue and commented I had a nice smile, so i offered to buy her cup of tea or coffee.........problem was she then said "oh, those cakes look really nice".....so what do you do, eh?.......I got her an eclair too.

We sat down and she told me her complete life story, which was really charming, and i enjoyed our 20 mins. Put a smile on my face for the day.

I must start growling and drooling more, i think. :0)
its sometimes little things like the buy one get one frees a few of those have been given away... 'i haven't got room in my freezer for both...' why not costs nothing but might make a disproportionate difference to someone else....
The last person who did a random act of kindness which brough tears to my eyes was Trim.

Although I decided to polish my halo today and did't put a bill in for my client because I felt really sorry for them.
