I E 9 Favourites Bar

I downloaded to my Windows 7 an update yesterday which included the new I E 9.

I've found however that my beloved favourites bar running along the top, containing
Answerbank etc had vanished. After some investigation I found a symbol on the top right which contained all my favourites from I E 8.
How do I reinstate the tool bar with my selected sites? It was so much easier than now.

Kayakamina, I have the same problem, IE9 was downloaded a couple of weeks ago. I really don't like my Favourites down the right hand side and I find the new tab reminders really annoying - plus if you click on them, your remembered user names aren't remembered - and there are annoying boxes along the bottom of the screen too on some sites (including this). I've been advised that the only way to reset it is to de-install (?) IE9 and go back to the previous version (in my case IE8). Redman was reporting problems too the other day.
My biggest problem is that I can't access a work website, our IT people at work say that the two aren't compatible, I would have to use "broken link" whatever that is, to be able to see our work site.

Thanks boxtops. I'm very tempted to uninstal this new IE9 and go back to IE 8 which
had everything I needed (except speed!)

You could always use Google Chrome or Firefox, both of which often outperform IE

Ah Hah! You've made my mind up for me kaya, . I was thinking of downloading IE 9 but I don't think so now. I'm not one for change. If it ain't broke don't fix it I say.

Let me know how you get on, if you do - de-installing something is bit scary for me.

Just right click on a blank area to the right of the tabs and select favourites bar.

Also this site (and several others) work a lot better if you click the compatibility mode icon just the the right of the address bar. (looks like a torn bit of paper)

Lastly...

Uninstalling IE9 is not a problem and is not scary, it's very straight forward, but as IE9 is far better than IE8 I'd recommend upgrading if you can (you can't install IE9 on windows XP)

I like IE9 =)

If you right click on the top and choose show tabs on a separate row it looks very much like 7
Mind you I have good tool bar installed so that may make mine look different?
