Difference between air conditioners/ air coolers?
Hi, thinking of getting an air conditioner for the forthcoming summer!! (If we get one!!)
I suffer from eczema so it's important for me to feel cool but I'm getting confused with these air coolers which I'm told isn't that great!
What's the difference and is it worth paying for more to get a portable air conditioner? If anyone's had any experience, any views will be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!

You have to make sure the unit is powerful enough for the size of the room.
Personally I hate the blessed things. They constantly recycle stale air, which is the reason so many people become ill a few days after a flight, even the most expensive ones 'hum' .
But then - I don't have eczema.
I hope you find a solution.
IMO. air coolers tend to have a fan which blows over water or a ice block to blow out cool air. Air conditioners actually have a refridgeration unit in them so the air blown out is COLD
AC costs more to run and vents out hot air which needs to be ducted out of the room by the window or trunking, otherwise you are spending your money for nothing. AC also dries the air and collects water, this is a good thing if the heat is humid.
not sure of the pros and cons so far as your skin is concerned
