The Lord Of The Rings trilogy is still a massive seller worldwide. John, the eldest of JRR Tolkien's children, subject of 'The Father Christmas Letters', was our parish priest, and received his quarter share of the royalties from the trilogy, and other works. It was a seven-figure sum, most of which he donated to good causes. The new film is awaited by people of imagination everywhere.
