our local sports field is covered with small grey/silver phials, I think they are glass ! It is obviously something the youngsters are throwing down but what are they ??
prev dose any-one know any good pub quizzes?

about 5cms long and about 1cm in diameter, and the letters isi is written on them.

Sounds like cartridges for soda siphons or the like. I have something similar used for my whipped cream siphon from isi. They're metal and slightly bigger but have 'isi' on the side.
