I don't think we're as lapdoggish at the moment as we were with Bush and "believe me, I'm a PrI Minister" Blair.

By far, many of the people i came across were in abject poverty, and the racial issues run both ways, lots of dislike, even hatred on both sides. You would think a country that has it's creed as freedom, manages to have such a poor record on human rights. I like it there having said that, and those we met were generous, kind, and very welcoming. I wouldn't live there though, even though had considered it some years ago.
