Maybe they need to put lots of chlorine in the water.

I don't suppose the fish would like that, though.

Carrust, there are filters in the tank, which keep the water clean.
JJ, I guess the fake tan would turn the water brown/orange. The fish are brown already.

I've had it done, took about 15 mins, they disinfect your feet before hand, it doesn't half tickle but my feet did feel softer afterwards. Not that I'm bothered about having soft feet though.
It's probably just as hygenic as going to a swimming pool or paddling in a lake or river.
