or it seems pointless , yesterday i jumped into a Jaguar XF and the first thing i noticed is when you turn the ignition on little doors/flaps slide open automaticaly to reveal the dash airvents likewise when you turn it off they close, why, what is the point ? the radio worth £1,000s stays on show..
As part of my job i drive high end spec vehicles ie BMWs/Mercs, not seen this on any other vehicle...
dont worry, it doesnt last long. 6 months in and it all stopped working on my dads car.
another thing that Jags do, according to the service department, is stay in 2nd gear (automatic) if you start car within 10 seconds of getting into it, as they reckon the car is so clever that it realises you must only be moving it a short way and not wanting a higher gear.
no, not a trade plater,
no matter how hard i try i cant think of any logical reason why you would want the air vents covered when parked. Imagine the tooling/design costs that went into this...
My 1984 Golf has the 4-cylinder engine and manual gearbox Mdoo, but I certainly know life without PAS or ABS. My car does have air conditioning - but I only have that function by opening the windows which are not electric and which I have to wind down myself!
