Why still a weak digital television signal?
2 Answers
For years we have been promised that after the switch-over the signal will be stronger on our digital channels.
I live in Aylesbury and receive the signal from the Oxford (Beckley) transmitter. Our completion date was September 28.
Three weeks later and the signal is even weaker than it was when the analogue was on. Some channels we are unable to get at all (eg ITV3) and others, which used to have a full strength signal (Sky News for example), are continually breaking up.
This is worse than ever before!
Can anyone explain this and suggest when it might improve?

There also may be a requirement for a higher gain aerial. See here for more info: http://www.stevelarki...rd_tv_transmitter.htm
Thank you for that answer. Just in case I was ambiguous we have been watching digital for some years but I was told that as soon as the Analogue signal was turned off there would be more bandwidth and the stations which were weak would receive stronger signals.
This has not happened. Not only have the, already weak, stations lost even more strength but others have now joined them and are continuously breaking up.
There is nothing wrong with my aerial.
