Setting up new Iphone 3GS

I've just got the phone and have got as far as putting in the SIM card - instead of coming up with the screen shown on the website, it appears to need charging first which I cannot find out how to do - can anyone recommend a really easy site for complete novices on the Iphone s myself? Thank you

Surely the documentation tells you how to charge the phone.

U would have got a white cable with a plug in the end, thr other end of the cable has a connection which slots in the bottom of the phone. Use this to charge it up, or use the usb iphone cable if you were given one and charge it through your pc/laptop

is it showing you a charge symbol of a battery or a cable symbol meaning itneeds plugging in to PC?

VHG, I've looked through everything that came with the phone and also up on the website but I cannot find anything about actually charging the phone - thank you rockyracoon, I'll charge it up through the plug.

Redx, it was showing the battery symbol so it is recharging at present then I plug it into my computer to set it up?

yes, you will need to set up an itunes account and it will probably want to update software etc.

You need to plug it into Computer to Activate it. It will that through iTunes, and also sync your stuff.
