Can anyone make sense of this?

Concerning The People newspaper of the £150 Mega Crossword, I have solved the shaded clue squares part of the crossword, but I just simply cannot understand what the shaded squares is meant to be!!!! Hmmm....
I'm fairly sure that my answers are correct, but maybe a couple of the letters could be wrong.
The letters in the brackets i'm a little unsure of......

Weird ehhh!! I'm wondering if the Crossword compiler has got it wrong somewhere!! I just can't figure it out, unless I've got it wrong somewhere.

With only one change of letter it reads "Kim's grandma babysat Ringo" but I've no idea what that might mean!

I didn't think of the apostrophe after Kim either......(sigh)
Now I'll see how I got the "I" wrong.
The clue was; Jeremy _Y_ E ,television presenter. Don't know of any Jeremy with that surname!!?
