Hi Sqad, thank you for your interest in my blood test results. My TSH is 2.45 (last year it was 2.02, on the same dose). My blood count is 14 (I only take 7 iron tablets a monthi.e. one a day through my period) Is 14 too much iron now?
My cholesterol is 5.6 (LDL is 3.54). I don't eat much red meat or cheese, I have skimmed milk and proactive Flora. My BMI is 23. The nurse said to have porridge for breakfast. Is there anything else I can do to lower choesterol? Thank you

TSH is fine....your dose of thyroxine is "spot on"

Your blood count (Haemoglobin I presume) is also....fine.total blood cholesterol.

Your total blood cholesterol is normal, but the majority of doctors would say it was a bit high.

Your LDL is normal, but most doctors would say it was a bit high.

In my opinion your are fine, but most doctors would suggest:

1) 7-9 portins of fruit and vegetables /day
2) Reduce fatty foods...cheese butter etc
3) If you need to fry....use vegetable oil.

There are many others, but you will already know them ;-)

You seem pretty good to me.

HB of 14 doesn't necessarily mean that you are taking toom uch iron, but in my opinion you are.

That's about it.

Thank you Sqad, you're a star. I wonder if my score of 14 was so high because I'd only just finished taking the iron tabs the day before the blood test. I'd just had them for seven days through my period. What do you think?
notafish...maybe......but 14gms/% is fine....no big deal....normal.
