Conflict of Anti Virus
6 Answers
I had a virus that Kaspersky told me it couldn't delete. SO I downloaded malwarebytes and Spybot and Ad-aware. They couldn't do anything either. Now my computer takes ages to start and everything keeps saying 'not responding'. I'm worried that there is a virus that can't be got rid of. I thought that it could be Ad aware and Kaspersky conflicting, but I can't really find out as my computer won't really let me do anything. I've tried a few times and it either stays on the welcome screen or starts, but is unresponsive.
Thanks.
Thanks.

But I suspect some might have an option that says to load and continually protect. Maybe you should check what you are running on boot-up and disable anything you didn't intend to run.
However i note that none of these were able to fix the problem, which is interesting. You sure this is the case ? If you still have a problem it may be the virus you found causing the delayed start. Or maybe you never had one and your PC has a different issue.
What you can try is booting into 'safe mode' to check things out. Failing that booting off a disk might allow you to investigate the problem easier.

It can be difficult sometimes to delete well entrenched malware.
dependind on what it is.
You could try this
http://www.mcafee.com...ee-tools/stinger.aspx
Which removes some of the most common ones at any given time.
Download it and run it on the affected system - you might want to try it from safe mode

Thanks for the answers. I will try the Mcafee stinger amd see if that does anything. I am sure there was a virus because Kaspersky repeatedly deleted then re-detected it. Then it told me the only option was to ignore. I think safe mode is my only option, but it seems Kaspersky won't run properly in that.
