Swallowing pills - Sqad

For the last 8 weeks or so I have been having difficulty in swallowing my daily pills, been alright for years but am wondering if it is anything to do with underactive Thyroid? Am due my yearly check-up but can't at the moment.

It may be, but there are other considerations.

Do the "pills" stick and does this happen with any other foods?
Where do they stick?
Has your voice changed and have you had any earache?

netibiza, Just for now try this. Put pill in mouth,tuck chin into chest and swallow. This works for me.

I take between 10 and 19 pills a day. Some days they go down fine and some days they dont. I sometimes have to crunch them to get them down

chinadog, I always take them like that cos it opens the throat.

Sqad they stick right at the beginning and I can cough them back up and it is revolting, takes several swigs of water to actually dislodge them, and I can feel them until they actually go down. Yes sometimes it happens with food but as I am such a gannet I don't notice too often but yes. No earache and voice is still dulcet and feminine and no more moustache than normal.

They are the same pills I've been on for years and now they won't go down.

My advice.....get someone who knows what they are doing, to have a look down the back of your throat. Nothing sinister, but it would reassure us both.
