Hi all,
I have just about got over the tremelo arm being called a whammy bar, (what a stupid name) and now they are talking about " shredding" what is this? I can "strum" as Bert weedon would say, and I can "bend" the strings, but " shred" I think not. The Who used to " smash" but not " shred". is this going to make my playing better, or just a immick??? God help us old rockers!

I have just returned from interviewing Orianthi Panagaris, who was the guitarist of choice for Michael Jackson's tragically curtailed 'This Is It' tour.
Ori and I discussed shredding at some length, and then I saw her demonstrate her considerable skill in this technique as she currently plays guitar with Alice Cooper's touring band.

Love jeff beck, he turns up in other groups stage shows ( on you tube), and steals the show. the yard birds, good down to earth music, and Jimmy page, no one ever like him. i lived near the Zepplins manager, Peter Grant, and the Zepllin boys would drink in the pub across the road from the manor that the manager owned. no one ever took any notice of them, least of all me, they were just some guys who sat in the corner quietly drinking. I used to chat to them, but as I wasn't into heavy metal stuff I didn't take much interest. strange world.
