It just goes to show that we really cant always judge people by their looks and behaviour

A couple of days of weeks ago we had a guy come to stay at the residential home where I work, while his home was being repaired after a fire, he was mostly self caring, we just had to administer his medication, he was on a lot of morphine as he has spinal problems along with other complaints and illnesses, a very poorly man indeed.

When he arrived it was like a breath of fresh air for some carers, he was so polite, treated all his carers with great respect, he was funny and very interesting to talk to, all the care staff took to him immediately.

On Friday morning he went out early and didn't come back that night, He told us he had a court appearance.

Yesterday we found out that he has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexually abusing young boys over a 20 year period.

It just goes to show that no matter how well we know someone, we still don't know anything of their sexual preferences.

do they not teach you about confidentiality at work? Mwahahaha!. Its so difficult where i work, i do crbs and some of the thing on there you would never guess they did that.

That's why I get irritated when a celeb passes and people harp on about what a great person they were. Admire their work....don't pretend to know what sort of person they really were. And that includes people who met them for 5 minutes...

I would have cared for him exactly the same way, I would have been more wary about befriending him and spending time in his company.

I would have treated him with the professionalism expected of me as a Senior Carer. that is my job.

It would have not gone any further than that. I hope never to meet him again!

hmmmm.. I'm sure some abusers get by because they manage to charm so many people. that's how they ensnare children and win the trust of others.

truly creepy. I'm glad he's paying for his heinous crimes. let's hope they forget to administer some of that morphine!
