What other problems have you had?
Exhaust, starting or fuel problems?
What does the dealer say the code reads when they interrogate the ECU?
Seems like you need to buy your own code reader then you will know what it says and also be able to reset the light yourself. Cost (off ebay) will be a lot less than one dealer diagnostic.

thanks for your answers other problem i have had is starting when not been used for long journeys i am a low mileage driver.honda said battery is going dead because of this.they have supplied me with a battery charger which i use every week overnight.they have tested the battery and found it to be ok.i have been out in the car today and when i went around a corner the light went out.the last 3 times it stayed on till they reset it.i am puzzled.
Yes .. but what did they say it said was the fault? Battery voltage?
If so, there is a possibility it is the voltage regulator in the alternator.

they cannot find any faults.they say the starting problem is because i only use the car every other day and then i only go on short journeys not enough to charge the battery up.i never had this problem with my other car,i did the same sort of mileage as this one.been out in it today and up to know the engine management light as stayed off.
