dont mean to sound stupid but whats a mooncup?
i dont think i could stomach using one to be honest, i cant even use tampons so i couldnt use one. But a friend of mine has had one for about 2 years and finds it very good and hasnt had any problems with it moving or any leaks.

there is quite a long thread of posts on this subject if you search this site with 'mooncup'. These will answer both your questions.

Can't say it's something for me, give me a Tampax any day, please.

Happy emptying!!

I bought one last month but I haven't used it yet - mainly because of the difficulty emptying and cleaning it out when I am at work, not the easiest thing to do. But the whole thing makes sense, so I might try it this month. Have you used yours yet?

I didn't know what you were talking about, googled it, feeling slightly nauseated (sp) now :(

Will you please let us know how you get on? x

I googled this - and wish I hadn't

Susan 123, its my second day of testing it out today.

Dakota, i'll let you all know how its going later, when ive had a bit more of a chance to try it.

Its getting easier to use but im not confident enough to use it when im out yet.

Well heres the update Dakota asked for:

(btw yes its me and not a clone, cant see a clone wanting to imposter about this inanycase)

Well i tryed it, and i must say it wasnt as hard to use, or a "uuurrrggghh" as i thought it would be, it was fairly comfortble, i found it more comfotable than tampons, tho i still wouldnt feel confitend going out for a long time and having to change when im not in the house. It certantly lasted longer than using tampons or a pad, and the best thing had to be no leaking when i was a sleep. Im definetly glad i bought it.

I know you posted this yonks ago, but when I read it, I googled it and was simply amazed. D'you know, I had never heard of Mooncup before, but I have thought for many years wouldn't it be great if there was some kind of cup to catch it all instead of trying to soak it all up and it leaking etc.

I bought one that night that I read you post, and by some strange coincidence had to start using it this week (first time since babe was born 10 months ago.)

This is the BEST thing I have ever bought or used. I can't use tampons for a variety of reasons, not least because they have always been so unrelieable for me. I have alwasy been relegated to wearing nasty baggy clothes and jolly old massive always ultra nighttime with wings (proabably too much info, so sorry bout that).

This was great. No leaks, no discomfort, totally enviromental and frugal (no ongoing cost.) I have told practially everyone I know about it as I think it is so great. Today (day3) normally I would still be relegated to horribly things to wear I'm wearing my fav light beigh trousers with a little skinny rib top. No leaks, and I even more a cropped jacket out, that is how confident I was. I feel great because I can dress how I want to, I don't 'feel' like Im on my period.
Night is the best, I don't have to wear granny pants in bed.
Everything about it is just fab. Everyone should get one.

Also, the council run a scheme where you can get money back if you use reusable nappies for your baby, I'm going to write to the department and ask them if you can get money off or money back for purchasing and using a mooncup....saving the planet and all that.

(p.s I think I draw the line though at using the collection as a frugal plant food as www. mooncup.com recommend. I'm brave but I'm not bonkers!)
