live film streaming ...when large screen goes black &white and squashed...?

when i am trying to watch movies online, just recently when i try to enlarge the screen to fullscreen, the film goes black and white and squashes the picture over to the left - making it slightly elongated and cuts the edge off

any ideas what this is and how i can re set it back to the way it was before?

I have never seen or heard of that happening.

Are you sure that a) your internet connection is fast enough for streaming? b) your PC's video card is capable of processing the information at the required rate?

yes its weird isnt it? It has always played them absolutely fine before, it just kind of happened... cant think why...

my connect should certainly be fast enough.

is there some settings that control this that i can have a play with an see if it fixes it?
