can you keep marmosets as pets in the UK

Im just curious as to what pets you are legally allowed to keep in the UK. I was reading about a guy who kept marmosets and thought it must be illegal? If so, are there many pets that are illegal to keep in the UK?

I did my veterinary nursing course at Berkshire college of agriculture and they had a little group of marmosets there, might be worth giving them a call to find out if you need a license for them if you have no luck elsewhere : )
A word of warning though, the little blighters used to take aim and pee all over anyone who passed by !!
