my parents used to have one of those hanging in the living room nothing bad happened but needless to say it ended up getting dumped out for the bin men ( just in case )

I'm a binman and can confirm there was a glut of them in the late 80's .. interesting though one of our dustcarts caught fire about half an hour after i dumped one in .. official cause hot ashes .. but you never knoooooow!!!:-)
