Itchy Scalp Treatments
8 Answers
Hi,
Does anyone know of any effective treatments for an extremely itchy Scalp? It doesn't feel dry and there is no flaking just itchiness.
I've tried all the usual Shampoos, Nizarol, Oilatum, Head & Shoulders and the Philip Kingsley range. None of which has worked. I get short term relief from Philip Kingsley's Scalp Tonic but something more permanant would be great.
Thanks

I use Tea Tree on my daughter, and that seems to help.
I buy it neat from Holland and Barratt and then put a "few" drops into her conditioner, and leave it on for about 3-5 minutes.
She has always had the same problem, and this has been the only thing that's helped.

I'd try a shamppo with some Tea Tree oil in it. Its a natural healer and will soothe and repair your scalp. It might cost a little more than usual but is best bought from a health food shop rather than a chemists. That way you get the real thing and not a gimmic version.
Most likely you have a sensitivity or have developed an allegy to some of the ingredients in traditional shampoo. Either that or you have yeast in the scalp. If you have no joy with Tea Tree shampoo, go to the GP for tests as it could be an infection which can be treated fairly easily.
