Does a banned person get all their posts removed?

I thought if your BANNED from AB then all your posts get removed?
A poster I like seems to be banned, yet all their posts are still there.
Why's that?

Moderators will normally only ban someone under the most clear cut of circumstances. For example I repeatedly banned someone the other night who kept appearing with a username including a four-letter word which usually starts with 'c' (but they'd replaced with a 'k'). Since that person was posting similar language (on every thread in all categories) it wasn't hard to decide whether to ban him or not.
I've never banned (or, indeed, suspended) any of the 'regulars' on this site. If anyone did have a bad night (because, for example, of a little too much booze) I'd only suspend them; it would then be up to the Ed to decide whether to reinstate them later, or to ban them.
