Comet sold for £2, that's got to be a bargain.

I remember when Comet was the first warehouse type electrical retailer, who offered goods at discount prices.

One would go up to the counter and state what item one wanted, and the salesperson would get the item from off the shelves of the huge warehouse, and one would then take it away.

Stroppy salesman wanted me to take interest-free credit on a cooker I fancied. Told him there is no such thing as interest-free credit, it's built into the price. I'm paying cash and I want a discount.
Bought a better cooker elsewhere and for less than they were offering their product for.
