All answers are Cities , towns, villages - done most - just stuck on the last few. Any clues gratefully received. I've got a couple of ideas but they don't appear in my map book of the uk!!!!!
1 German egg (30
2 Line! On fire (7)
3 Pop groups sword (9)
4 Writing tool, insects (7)
5 Dog crossing (4,4)
6 Small bulge, opposite? (4) .......could it be Dent?
7 Stay here (6)
8 Piece of string in meat (10)
I'm glad to see you're not asking about that "Go on having children" clue that has featured so many times this week.
I thought 4 might be Penzance
(pens Ants) but that's 8 letters
4 Pennant? I thought of Pennance which sounds like pen-ants but that has 8 letters.Reading the clue the tool is singular and insects is plural but anything goes in quizzes I suppose.
I thought Pensby sounded okay at first but realised it has 6 letters not 7. Also, as gen2 says, the clue suggests the writing tool is singular and the insect is plural.
many thanks for all the answers - I too have been through all those starting pen and came up with the same problem - have checked sheet carefully and it does say insects but as you say errors do occur. Apologies grasscarp, I did mean (3) - didn't spot 0!! Same long trawl through with mut and cur .... actuall I quite liked Dover for german egg (D ova) but I think grasscarp is right. thanks factor30 - where would we be without wiki to help tired brains
