Thanks, mamyalynne. I thought "internet" also but this does not fit with the "T" of 8 across where the answer is "gentoo" unless I have got the wrong oenguin!

No you haven't - it's definitely Ethernet. It's what you have if you are conecting a number of computers onto one system ie a private company.
