contact lenses
Didn't quite know where to post this ... has anyone heard of the new contact lenses that you wear at night and then you can see properly the next day without prescription glasses/lenses (I think it was on this morning).
Do they work ???

Re the topic, I think we're on a losing battle to be honest. I can almost feel the heels being dug in, and the refusal to concede that a tiny error was made, and has now be compounded by petulence. Ho hum.... least we've got each other! lol :-)
It was meant to allude to your previous incarnation (although the reference to a well known manufacturer, albeit of industrial plant, was certainly part of my reason for selection).
If you are happy to further the analogy which of these describes you best Backhoe Loader or Articulated Dump Truck ?
holy ****, you guys are all dicks, i know this post will get taken off but whatever. the fact remains it is not a ******* lens. whether marketed as a lens or called a lens is irrelevant, it is not a lens thats what i was asserting, why can't you accept that. and as for being sued? what planet do you live on? and as for infantile behaviour...people in glass houses and all that.
one more thing...**** ye's
A well-reasoned and thoughtful response from mastadon which I sincerely hope is not removed as it serves as an example of how objectivity can bolster your argument.
Points to ponder;
- The question is explicitly concerned with contact lenses.
- Only one person on the thread chose to change the topic of discussion.
I believe you inadvertantly focussed (no pun intended) on the definition of 'lens' without fully appreciating that the term 'contact lens' has a much wider scope.
However, this does not excuse your vitriolic outburst in an attempt to reinforce an untenable position.
you must live in one hell of a poilite place if you consider that a vitriolic outburst. as for changing the subject i posted first and only subsequently to assert that they were not lens' are not len's and will never be lens'. off topic? yes, but what the hell's wrong with making a point, on answerbank (where everyone loves everyone else so much, unless you dare disagree or think independently)...apparently quite a lot.
i've only just signed up for this website and frankly if this site is populated with people like yourselves i won't be back. actually i will, but just to **** you off. oh yeah and i wasn't attempting to defend an untenable position, it was januarybug who accused me of being wrong and i was merely stating the obvious. could go on and on about lens' being lens' but you's didn't get it the first time so i doubt you will this time.
wow what a valid point you've totally won me over to your twisted sense of logic...
nobody claims that hot dogs are dogs, if they did then any right minded person would point out that they are not actual dogs. the "lens'" in question have been claimed to be lens' and are not. once again you really don't get it. well done.
