JJ, no it doesn't, some of the people do i agree, that is what you get living cheek by jowl with upwards of 7 million people.

LOL "ponks" - yes, better still, visit Leith Hill and have a walk over SE England's highest point. There are a couple of great pubs there to (The Plough and The Stephen Langton)

sorry don't agree. It may not be the cleanest air, and i am sure there is data out there about car, bus emissions, but chimneys, you would be hard pressed to find a home, business with a chimney, or one that is working.
You can't use the old fossil fuels anymore, as far as i know. This isn't Victorian fog encrusted London. The people can whiff a bit i grant you.
And as you are a resident of Brighton, Brightonian? there must be a similar problem going on the amount of people that live and visit, and your buses don't look that much better than the ones we have here.

There's a great little coffee shop off Carnaby called "Antidote" - try their white chocolate & almond croissant. Absolutely stunning.

We have a constant sea breeze which blows our dirty air up the road to London.

Convent Garden is a must, plenty of shops and eateries, great street entertainment on the piazza. You'll love London it's great.

My favourite 'take a break from the hustle and bussle' pub is the Bricklayers Arms just off Rathbone place.
