I have a live.co.uk email account but bizarrely, someone has been able to set up an account with an identical email address to mine. She is now on Facebook and I am receiving dozens of emails from people wanting to be her friend ...! I am obviously concerned that she is receiving my emails regarding personal stuff like banking and car insurance. What can I do please????

It's probably more likely that when she registered on Facebook she mistyped her e-mail address and it happens to be your e-mail address.

Maybe you could contact her on Facebook and ask her to change her e-mail address on it.

I have hotmail.com and hotmail.co.uk....I get them wrong quite often.

Are the emails to her vis your inbox only from facebook?

Its possible that she has an address very similar to yours and she's misstyped it when she's set up the facebook account.

I've also had emails from fast food places confirming orders placed from an address in Warrington (not mine) so I'm not sure what's happening ...?

That actually can't realistically have happened. Much more likely, as others have suggested, to be as others have suggested.

I used to get emails for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Rae all the time, including one of forthcoming tour dates from his manager. The reason was simply that he had a Hotmail address very similar to mine, and his manager had mistyped it when adding it into his address book...
