I'm starting a new thread as the last one seems to have died out!
With kayakamina's help, I have answered the clues and know the location and one of the occupants but I do not understand the 'thematic information in the appropriate form' required in the perimeter. Can someone please help me put this tricky one to bed.

Thanks cruciverbals. Got it except for bottom right. I think I might have got 36d wrong - I have resect. Also I got 7d as one of the inhabitants but who was the other?
I have the author of Cantebury Tales.

What are the clues for 7d , 23d & 38a ?
23d Democratic female, say, backed raising court monument (9). I have WOO???N??.
38a Charater in synagogue showing a bit of leg (4). ????. I'm thinking maybe zeta, beta, iota? but can't see it.
