First time posting a question - and thanks for all the previous answers I have seen in the past.

For today, I can see that 7d 'a large travelling bag for brunch' is PORTMANTEAU but could someone please explain the wordplay??

Also for my last one to fill in 27a 6 letters 'Broadcast cover from this performer' R_P_E_ I thought 'rapper' but once again do not get the wordplay.

Thanks in advance

Thank you all - I had never heard of a portmanteau word. I have been educated today - and glad to know 'rapper' was correct.
