In the words of the Ting Tings

'Thats not my name!'
At work I got lumbered for a few hours with someone who doesn't really know me and seemed to be under the impression that my name was 'Simon'. Its not.
I shouldve put him right but for some unknown reason I didnt. After a few 'Simons' I thought 'well I cant really put him right now, he'll wonder why I didnt do that several Simons ago'
Maybe that demonstrates a lack of confidence and social communicative skills.
Are YOU the sort of person that wouldve put him straight from the word go?

Yes if I was seeing the person again.
Unless it's my mother who has been calling me Jane for some time now; Jane is my aunt. I can't be bothered to correct her every single time and no, she is not senile. Actually thinking about it, my dad is always calling my sisters and I by each others name too but he usually realises his mistake.

People are forever mis-naming me, too.
Sometimes I correct them, often I don't bother, it really does depend upon how much I shall be seeing/speaking to them.
To head-of any embarrassment I usually say;
"I don't mind what you call me providing it's polite" or, "I don't mind what you call me providing it's not late for dinner".
