...also English, Irish with a once German surname that was anglicised in 1888 when my grand-dad was registered. To be fair to my illiterate great-grandmother it was a mouthful and by cutting it in half, as a family, we have saved many biros!

I believe that I am Iris(little bit), Scottish, small bit of catholic thrown in, a bigger bit of protestant, and the rest of me is a mix of agnostic and atheist. There is also a big allocation of sarcasm, cynicism and (sometimes) the ability to believe that Man is the lowest form of life on the planet.

pastafreak, I'm not sure what happened to my grandma whilst she was still in the Ukraine, however she did let on (many years ago before she passed away) that my (biological) father was both Ukranian and American.
