I have just found a response to a letter I wrote to BT when I was 16 after I lost 40 pence in a payphone. I had obviously complained to them and they sent me a phonecard to the value of, wait for it, 50p! Ha, ha!! I was probably still out of pocket after I'd put a stamp on my envelope. When was the last time you got a return on a complaint you made?

My bank, selling unnecessary PPI, and got all the money back, and an apology, nearly had a heart attack.
Same as Em but they gave me extra too .
Same as above, still waiting for payment but it's been agreed, plus 8% interest.
yesterday from the postoffice a cheque for a lost item sent through ebay well pleased winner
A credit card company dropped a big clanger on my account, involving me in phone calls & letters.

In my annoyance, I sent them a bill for all my letters at £10 and 'phone calls at £5.

... and they paid it! £270 !!
I wrote a huge long complaint to Brit Gas in 1999 when I got a whopping backdated bill totalling over £900. I moved into my house in 1996 and nobody came to read my gas meter for 3 years and I was paying estimated bills.

They took £10 off the bill!!!
i complained to BT about the time I had to wait for a line repair...3 days...and got £25 off bill....pays to complain..if... you go about it the right way and not in an aggressive manner.....
I complained about an Asda Shepard's pie recently because it was all potato and got a full refund, I also complained to the Royal Mail because my guaranteed next day delivery took three days to be delivered, i got all my money back plus £5 compensation. So sometimes it's definitely worth complaining.
lol Zammo....I regularly complain about all kinds of things, usually with very good results. I think the last was about a big bag of walnuts from the Co Op, they tasted horrible - and they're not cheap you know :o). I had a very apologetic letter back, well over the odds in vouchers and when I next went into the shop they'd taken them all off the shelf.
The worst service I had regarding a complaint was a large paint company.
My Oh half, took a pair of expensive walking boots backto the shop he purchased them from, for a repair to the toe cap. Because the manufacturers said the risk stitching of through the gortex lining, would make them leak. The boots were replaced for free. The gaurantee had run out. So very impressed.
I've never made a complaint....
I'm rubbish at complaining.

I went for lunch with some friends at a restaurant/bar and they had had a problem in the kitchen, power but I think.

Food was delayed although we had still had starter and main within our lunch hour, none of us complained, only polite requests as to when the food might be expected so we could work out whether we had enough time to stay to eat, but then they wouldn't let us pay for any of the food or drinks.
