Does anyone have any thoughts on the new 'responsible' Rod Stewart or do you prefer the 'Rock Star' he once was?

Think he's just trying to make a few bob. Jumping on the Swing Band Era, like Robbie Williams. As previous answer says he is 60, shame he's had a few probs with he's voice over the last couple of years.

Rock stars were always at their best when they were rebels, protesting at the comfort and hippocracy of the establishment. Unfortunately, most of them subsequently became the establishment, accepting knighthoods (Sir Mick Jagger for god's sake) and never passing up an opportunity to rub shouders with royalty. Few of them have anything new to say, which is why they spend their time re-hashing all their old songs into yet another Greatest Hits compilation or covering songs from the thirties, like Rod Stewart. It's very sad when you think about what they were like when they were young. Cole Porter songs are just not his thing. Pool Hall Richard - now you're talking.
