Which would be a good one for a canon dslr? i need one with tilt etc

Agree with Space Cadet but it's going to be a balance between portability and stability to suit your own personal requirements.
I picked one up for a couple of quid from a car boot sale, nice and light, tilt pan everything you want in a tripod I've used it for years with all my various SLR's don't know the make but it's done the business for years.
I think you can search some information from internet. I bought one camera tripod from http://www.tmart.com/Tripods-Monopods/ .
Don't get anything too light or too plasticky - your camera is relatively heavy, and you don't want the dreaded wobble.

Watch out for quick release fittings, too - same comment!

I have a Manfrotto, on the heavy side, but solid.
