I'm completely stuck on the top section, can anyone help me please with the following

9a Affected by elements of visit being in wrong order (8)

11a Bite, say, limb of insect-eater - no big offence (11) begins with P I think

3d Make up paper with energy, employing a writer (10) ens in a-e

It is/was a real killer this one wasn't it !! 9a is overcome ... brilliant clue I think (come over the wrong way round) will try and remember the other two ...

11a is peccadillo (wasn't it 10 letters??) pecc sounds like bite and its armadillo without the arm

and the writer one is .. wait for it .. Macquillage ... which is a sort of make up apparently ... quill with mag and e round it ...arrrrgh

well it took me and my partner about one and a half days to solve it but I think it was one of the best crosswords I have seen for a long time. If you look back on here you will see I asked for justification of one of the answers as we just could not fathom out why it was the answer.
