Travel expences tax
Hi
I am working as a sole trader for a limited company who have sub contracted me to another company. The journey from one company to another is around 40 miles and I use my own vehicle, I believe that I can claim this as an expense in my tax return – does anyone know if this is true or have experience in this area? Thank you in advance.

If you are truly self-employed and you use your home as your normal place of work (i.e. you do not have offices) you should normally be able to claim the distance from home to the limited company anyway as well. Then when you work at the second place, it is the distance from home to this second place that is claimable.
