hi, has anybody got any good ideas to help me with this, growingly annoying, problem? my gf recently bought an mp3 player, she tried putting some songs onto it via window media player but only about a quarter of the songs went on, so she tried again but this time most of the songs went on but they wouldnt play. so i thought about formatting the device so we tried that but still it didnt work. There should still be plently of room on the device as she isnt trying to put loads of songs onto it. so anyway we took it back to the shop and got a completely different 1, but this exact problem has happened again. the songs seem to be there but when you go to play them it just takes you back to track 1 and doesnt play a thing. her computer is runs windows xp which i thought was compatible with the device. has anybody got any ideas? cause this is getting really annoying! any help would be great. thanks

y?

some people only read certain catagories and i think he was just trying to get the best answer he could

this question could belong in either. who made you ed anyway, if you see a question repeated just ignore it

When I first got my MP3 I had a similar problem.

I found that although the songs were there, they were actually inside another folder, so the MP couldn't read them. I don't know if I've explained this well enough, but it was as if they were hidden behind one more layer which masked them from the reader. So for example, I had a Keane album in a folder, which actually had another folder inside holding the songs.

I put them back onto the PC and "stripped" them of the excess layer (ie removed them out of the superfluous folder) then transferred them back onto the MP3 and hey-presto they all worked!
