I love these facts ... but I'm ready for the maths guys to shoot me down.

A "googol" is a 1 followed by 100 0's.

The googol has no real practical application.

BUT ... !

If you have 70 people in a queue, there are MORE THAN a googol different ways in which you could line up those people.

AND YET ... !

When you look into the sky, there are FEWER THAN a googol ATOMS(!) in ALL the stars in the visible universe.

How fab is that ???

(I hope it's right)

well, not mine, I hope.

But I suppose it's like water - you don't really waste it, it just goes round and round.

DTC ... it's a bit of a gross thought, isn't it.

Does this mean that each of us is breathing a molecule of breath from all the rest of us on AB ?

Hey, wait ...

If I run out on my balcony, and go "PFFOOOOOO!!!" ...

Now you're all breathing TWO molecules of mine !!
Oh my God, it's a JJ salad dressing now.....
Statistically you will breathe in several hundred atoms of oxygen from any breath that was taken by anybody who has ever lived. But that's playing with numbers, other factors will play a part in the distribution of the oxygen around the world.
give it a couple of years to go round, JJ, less if the wind's from the south.

And I might not recognise it as yours, especially if it's already been breathed by Attila the Hun.

I think Atilla's last meal might have included garlic.

Or is that just me ???
I found this on Attila the Hun

Attila the Hun

When Attila the Hun married his twelfth wife Ildico in 453 AD whole herds of sheep along with thousands of gallons of alcohol were brought in to satisfy their appetites. The feasting continued for days, and Attila was found dead the morning after taking his 16 year old bride to bed.

What a way to go......garlic or not but then a good roast sheep should be infused with plenty of the vampire repellent.

The quality of a game (Xbox, PS ...) is determined by the power of your processor, the faster the data processed the better.

I am GooGol is a superhero (or a super computer) able to process 1^100 (one googol) of data per second allowing her to gain abilities in a world where computers, phone & other devices have been reduced to a chip in our brain.

Would that be enough data to amount to a googol, you reckon? Media URL: http://youtu.be/-PGvBhhWnq4

Golly!
Sylvaine, one to the power of a hundred is ...er..one. A googol is 1 with a hundred noughts after it. A googlplex is 1 with a googol of noughts after it.
Do try to keep up.
Isn't a googolplex just small change compared to Graham's number?
Typo ... if this is allowed here! @chakka35
