Jill Morrell

Whatever has become of the amazing Jill Morrell? I will never forget how she campaigned tirelessly and courageously for the release of John McCarthy from captivity between 1985/90. We all know that since his return to the UK, McCarthy married and leads a successful career as a journalist. But what of Jill; she was so outstanding, committed and creative in the way she maintained her publicity campaign for McCarthy and how she grew to hold her own on the national / international stage (in the face of much opposition), it's a wonder we hear so little of her these days, indeed that we allowed her to disappear back into obscurity! Basically, I'd love to know that she's well and happy and doing something (career / family / both etc) that brings her joy and satisfaction.

I thought that as no-one has answered, I'd post what I found out before this question disappears off the page (which isn't much). It appears as if Ms. Morrell is still campaigning for human rights - she has a book/pamphlet about unjustly imprisoned people, and has to have taken part in some educational videos on the subject. She and John McC split up about four years after his release, and he is now married to someone else. From an interview in the Guardian, it doesn't sound as if he and Ms. Morrell keep in touch much. Sorry, best I could do. There was a site that claimed to have contact details for celebrities that listed her, but I didn't fancy signing/paying up. (Not to mention that some of the people they listed - L.Ron Hubbard, for instance - could only be contacted via a medium).
