Thanks Prudie, not sure what a blokie film is but I am looking forward to it.
There's a repeat of Jonathan Creek on at 7.20. That's about as good as it gets.

Jan1957 it was me that said it sounds like a blokie film. I meant it sounds like the kind of film that men like to watch more than women but before anyone gets on my case I know women like this kind of film also but it's not for me.
I have no idea whats on the box tonight. Got home just after 7pm and all I want to do is go to bed. I'm going to fight my tiredness and stick Hot Fuzz on.
TV has been so dumbed down in the last few years that I haven't watched standard TV fare for years now. There are now so many adverts and trailers that the continual 'breaks' (breaks for whom?) ruin anything I settled down to watch. British TV was alwasy considered the best in the world but it was recently rated at 27th in the world - 26 countries now have a better TV service than the UK.I can believe it.

I buy DVDs and box sets and watch those when I want to settle down in the middle of the night. I like Poirot, Columbo, David Attenborough etc. I've just bought Frozen Planet and First Life on DVD. I wouldn't bolster the viewing figures by suffering them on TV.

Andyvon I wish I could do that but I have the concentration span of a gnat!!
I love it when the adverts come on so I can go and do something.
If I do manage to watch a film, you can bet your bottom dollar it will have a rubbish ending and I feel like I've just wasted 2 hours watching it.
Hi Missprim,
The thing with DVDs is that you can run them back and concentrate on the lines or points you missed! My concentration isn't too good sometimes but I just go back over what I missed and watch or listen properly. You can also stop them if you want to nip to the loo or to make tea or a bacon sandwich (at 3am!)

I agree about the films. Most are complete trash now, full of cheap trashy plots and actors. There are no modern equivalents of the greats such as John Wayne, Henry Fonda etc. There are a few good films around on DVD though - but you have to look carefully to find the nuggets amongst the dross.

Good luck.
I'm watching Defiance, recording The Boat that Rocked, and recording the Coen Brothers film on "Dave".

Not often much on a Saturday so it makes a change to be spoilt for choice.
Strictly, and it lived up to expectations as usual ...
