Art - not porno. And why not female?

I have been asked to write out my xmas wish list. I have seen a painting of a female nude - very tasteful, no genitalia showing - just in black & white with a lot of shadowing; just the breasts showing & head thrown back. I would like to put it up in my bedroom - which is black/cream/turquoise with cream french furniture. My BF thinks it's weird that I want a female nude - why? This is art, not porno. Wanting a female nude as opposed to a male does not a lesbian me make does it? Is he the weird one for thinking it is a bizarre request? It is just admiration of the female form & a very tasteful classy painting (expensive too, I might add - is this his real reason for objection?!!)
